MSGA is a policy coalition composed of nine of the most effective housing, planning, public health, and environmental advocacy organizations in the state. André Leroux was the executive director of MSGA from Sept. 2007 to June 2020. During that time, the organization led zoning reform efforts that contributed to the passage of Governor Baker’s Housing Choices legislation expected later this year. He founded Great Neighborhoods in 2009 and helped launch Transportation for Massachusetts in 2010 and the Planners of Color Network in 2019. Other notable successes include policies and investments supporting brownfields redevelopment, smart growth infrastructure like MassWorks, mixed-income housing, and placemaking.
